Men's Grooming: Everything Men Need to Know To Look And Feel Good

Contrary to popular belief and traditional norms, men do need to invest in grooming.

Putting in time as well as effort in personal grooming does not in any way make you less manly. Period.

In fact, it makes you healthy and look appealing. Who doesn’t want that?

Men's grooming includes everything from shaving, trimming, cutting the nails, to skin care, moisturizing and ensuring oral health.

If you are someone who is looking for an easy to follow guideline on self-grooming routine, then this men's grooming guide is for you.

Dedicate A Space and Time

Rushing has never done anyone any good. If you want to really start taking care of yourself, then develop a habit of dedicating a set amount of time for self-care, preferably during the night after a long day of work.

time

This does not have to be something over the top. Just reserve 10-15 minutes and make a space in your bedroom or washroom, and you are good to go.

Face

Start off by cleansing. Your face can gather a lot of dirt and bacteria throughout the day that needs to be washed off. We suggest you use something that contains charcoal as it is known to deep cleanse pores and get rid of all the gunk!

Scrubbing is equally important. Scrub after every 3 days to get rid of dead skin buildup.

Next comes the facial hair.

If you have dry skin, opt for a beard shampoo to thoroughly cleanse and condition your beard and mustache every day. Hair have the tendency to absorb everything (gross we know!) so wash your facial hair properly at the end of each day.

Don't skip on the moisturizing. We mean it! Moisturizing is a substantial part of self-grooming. Lather yourself with a good face lotion or cream to fight off dry and scaly skin. You can use a beard oil for that.

Another very important part of your face is your eyebrows. Men eyebrow grooming is something that’s skipped but it shouldn’t be.

You can trim away the unruly ends of your eyebrows carefully using your beard trimming scissors. Then use a beard brush to stimulate the hair shaft and draw out dust and debris.

Tip: Find an all-natural beard oil Pakistan for men and use that on your eyebrows to keep them in place!

While you are at it, trim your nose hair too!

Lastly, don't forget to wear a good sunscreen. There are tons of options available on the market. Pick and choose anyone above SPF 30.

Lips

Your lips can make or break your overall appearance, so it's not really fair to leave them out.

lips

Invest in a good lip balm, better yet, invest in a good lip lightener balm to reverse any darkening you might have.

After cleansing your face and moisturizing, apply a lip balm to seal in the moisture.

Another way to keep your lips nice and healthy is to scrub them lightly with your toothbrush every time you brush your teeth.

Scrubbing will help remove dead cells and will also improve blood circulation, which can help reduce pigmentation.

Eyes

We all know what they say about eyes so let's not neglect them.

Most men have under eye circles but don't really know what to do about it. It's simple, find a good, high quality under eye gel and use it regularly before bed. It will help you treat and avoid dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles, making you look fresh. Isn’t that just what you want?

Tip: Place your under-eye gel and lip balm on your bed side table so that it's handy and you don't forget.

Also, invest in a good pair of sun glasses, they will help protect your under eyes from sun damage and make you look 10 times better!

Trimming and Grooming Facial Hair

As much as we admire and drool over long thick beards, no one really likes the Hagride style of beards (apologies to the harry potter fans!). Hence beard grooming is crucial.

Trim your regularly to keep the beard free of split ends and ensure it is well-groomed. You don't have to snip off a huge length every time. That's the beauty of fine grooming, just trim off the unruly bits, so it stays nice and in shape. The same applies to your mustache, keep it trimmed, so it stays healthy.

The best way to do this is to invest in a beard grooming kit with all the beard care essentials in one place. Facial hair grooming does not have to be complicated; we recommend you check these kits out!

Manscaping Essentials

Manscaping is best explained with the example of many athletes and celebrities sporting smooth, tanned chests all over social media and news.

In simpler words, it is the management of body hair so that they don't push you in the outcasts group!

Body hair or hair in general trap sweat, warmth and a whole lot of germs so it's important you clean and shave every nook and cranny.

The method you chose is entirely dependent on you.

There is no best way to manscape, so you chose what suits you best; however, we do have a few recommendations.

People opt for waxing, but that's kind of painful and uncomfortable, especially for beginners.

An easier option for those who want to keep their chest, underarms and groin tidy is a men's body groomer.

A good, well-thought-out grooming set will have all the essentials for body grooming.

Pay Your Barber A Visit

Who doesn't like a freshly trimmed man? No matter what style you sport, it is always best to visit your barber regularly to get a fresh cut.

This is really important because quite often we miss out on grooming or shaving the hair that's on the neck.

 neck shave

Your neck especially the nape of your neck is an extension of your beard and hairstyle so make sure it's nice and groomed as well.

Hands and Feet

Don't walk around with gross, unclipped nails; it's not attractive and honestly not very hygienic either.

Clip your nails on the regular and file them. Another good tip is to always keep hand cream handy. No one likes the feeling of dry, stretchy hands and feet.

Also, cracked heels are often the ground for a lot of fungal infections, so make sure you keep your feet moisturized and scrub off any dead skin that's building up!

Taking Care of Body Odor

What's the worst thing someone can do to ruin their image? Smell bad. What's the fastest way of ruining your image? It's by smelling bad!

Scents are therefore your best friends, especially antiperspirants that keep away sweat and odor. You can choose from woody, floral or event scents that have a little spicy note to them; the choice is yours.

 perfume

P.S: It's always a good idea to keep a perfume in your office bag or even put one in your laptop bag.

Just don't smell bad!

Oral Health

Don't let bad oral hygiene ruin your smile.

Now that everything else is sorted, it's time to take care of that million-dollar smile.

There is a common syndrome among men known as "Superman syndrome". Don't believe us? Google it!

It's when men start to believe they are invincible and stop taking care of themselves, aka their hygiene.

Make sure you carry a pack of mints in your pocket. Also brushing is a given! Don't skip it.

brushing teeth

Invest in a good dental floss and start flossing to really improve your gum health. This also helps in eliminating bad breath.
